Extinction

As far back as anyone can remember, humanity has been at war with itself. For generations, kingdoms have fought amongst themselves while the real threat loomed in the distance. Legend calls them the Ravenii, encroaching armies of bloodthirsty monsters standing 150 feet tall that once threatened to destroy humankind. Now the threat has returned, and only those trained in the ways of the ancient order stand a chance at defeating the ogres. You are one of the world’s last Sentinels, a soldier named Avil equipped with the skills to battle the endless wave of Ravenii. Fight massive brutes and their minions across a sprawling countryside, defending cities and rescuing refugees torn from their homes. Swiftly define your strategy as hordes attack from the ground and air. Use the dynamic skill-based combat system to your advantage, tactically disarming and dismembering enemies to go in for the kill. This is no longer a war. It is an annihilation. And you are all that stands between humanity…and extinction.

ngl I was kinda hyped for this game when it was released and i didn't understand why it was rated so low..

Parkour and fighting big ass bosses? Hell yeah!
But yeah, it's kinda meh. Fighting big bosses can be fun, but you have fight smaller ones first and then save citizens by holding a button... Idk man, I would like this game to focus more on the big bosses and get rid of the small ones entirely, and make boss battles more interesting

Also just noticed that the visuals are the most generic "stylized" graphics. I mean they look good, but they have been overused quite a lot now

This is one of the most frustrating games I've played. The core concept of defending towns from rampaging giants is cool and can be fun in short bursts. The story is pretty bland but the characters actually manage to be fairly likeable.

That's where the positives end. The gameplay never evolves beyond introducing more frustrating enemy types as the game progresses. The controls are really bad, the main character is very slippery and will often get stuck on geometry or in the armpit of one of the monsters. Combat against the smaller enemies is just tedious button-mashing. Some later enemy types wear armor that must be removed to defeat them but the requirements to break the armor are really annoying and rely on the very spotty enemy AI doing certain attacks. Overall, despite a decent concept a lack of polish ruins the game.

Starts off ok but soon turns into a messy frantic button-mashy jumble of a game where you feel success or failure lands entirely on where enemies decide to spawn that time around vs any actual skill.
