LOVED this, even though I'm aware of its shortcomings. The expanded job system and far more lenient laws felt very welcome.
This was more forgiving than its predecessor, but no less enjoyable! I only wish they'd follow this up with a sequel. The Tactics and Ivalice series have been sorely neglected.

The expanded job system and more lenient laws give you so much freedom for team composition and just dicking around. But some other changes are frustrating, and the story's a wash. It never feels like you're working towards anything meaningful.

Gameplay's a great improvement over Advance 1 except, ironically enough, on the clan wars (no more cool random battles) and the law system (which is now tailored to every mission, pain in the ass to deal in certain cases).
The story is a huge step down from Advance 1, and even more compared to the original Tactics. Despite all of this it's a wonderful game and worth playing.
