Flashback is a science fiction platform video game remake of the original 1992 Flashback. The game was developed by the original game designer, Paul Cuisset, with his studio, VectorCell, and published by Ubisoft. The game was released on August 21, 2013 on Xbox Live Arcade.

A well-made action game that's very much in line with what you'd expect for a mid-scale downloadable game released in 2013 in the wake of Shadow Complex, but this Ubisoft-budgeted remake loses the understated minimalism that made the original Flashback unique. It's a weird paradox of remakes that this might've been better if it wasn't a remake at all.
