Great tactical RPG, doesn't really have much in the way of story (what is there is pretty cliched), but the gameplay is strong, and the extremely large set of challenge battles keep it interesting. I've sunk a ton of time into this game over the years, and I'll probably come back to it now and again, but it's better as a game to touch on than one to sit with as it feels more obviously same-y if you play long uninterrupted stretches.
I played it on PS2. It a good tactical RPG, but it gets repetitive, almost all stages look the same, you have to fight the same enemies over and over again, and the battle animations are slow. Outside of that the game it's very polished and I enjoyed it a lot, although I shelved it before finishing it.
Edit: Just noticed Gladius was made by Lucas Art.
