So let me preface by saying that this game has many bugs, some performance issues (the last dungeon mainly) and even some design decisions that I'm not fond of. It's not possible to earn all achievements in any version. Fans found a solution with the PC version. In the case of the European PS4 version, it's impossible to play the fishing mini game because we never got the patch to fix this. The US version did. The last dungeon was horrible in terms of design. You have 2 main branches, the left and the ride side. They're mini dungeons where you have to solve the puzzle by activating dots. This needs to be done in a specific order. The issue is the fact that you're thrown in a maze where you easily get lost and there's stealth. If you get caught, then you have to start the dungeon again. Also the enemies you defeat respawn after while. I was ready to drop the game but still pushed through. I also don't like when the characters talk way too much. It really drags things down sometimes.

So why am I still giving it 3.5 stars? The game is ambitious (for an indie) and it has a heart. It is the kind of PS1/PS2 era jrpg in terms of gameplay, battle system, progression and mini games. Lots of mini games. I enjoyed the battle system and the tactics mode. I'm very fond of the graphical style and the soundtrack.

This game could have been amazing if it was more polished and the last dungeon was better. It's worth playing if you're a huge fan of the genre and are tolerant to some cons. Others? Stay away from it.

this feels me with unnecessary rage
