DLC for Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect: Genesis is a downloadable "interactive backstory comic". Genesis fills the role of Mass Effect for new players by introducing them to the story of the original game and allowing them to make six of the major plot decisions that players could make. If downloaded, the comic appears between the opening level and character customization. There are two versions of the comic, one each for a male and female Commander Shepard.

For PS3 owners in particular, this was a great piece of DLC to have. It allowed you to make a few key decisions in the base first game. This allowed players to then have a pretty cohesive experience going into Mass Effect 2. Alternatively, if you didn't care for Mass Effect 1, you could just skip the game and use this DLC to get key decisions, but you wouldn't have any extra resources from ME1.
