Metal Morph

Metal Morph is a side-scrolling platformer. As the Metal Morph, you can jump, duck and shoot, as well as transform into an invulnerable liquid blob of metal. While as a blob, you can also travel through pipes to get to areas you couldn't normally. Power ups such as triple shots and homing missiles make battle easier for you. The game also has sections where you fly your spaceship to track down your stolen pods. In flight mode, you can move the ship up, down, left and right while shooting enemies and dodging their incoming shots. Power ups such as speed up (which makes the ship travel faster to its destination) and shields (which prevent instant death) can also be found.

This game came off as promising with the cool cover and I'm a fan of platformers from the many I've completed and streamed, however, this game was far too damn rough!
The story is that a portal opens near earth, but they found that no organic lifeforms can enter it without being harmed so they create this liquid metal being to go through and greet any life-forms on the other side, but they instead knock him out and take away all of his ship components to study separately. You escape and now have to go through levels and reclaim the parts.
The gameplay had some interesting mechanics like the ability to turn into liquid and then slide up and down surfaces, however, this is one of those games where you die from one single hit, but unlike Skullmonkeys, you NEVER see it coming! Missiles and energy beams can come out of the screen at the same time as an enemy so if you aren't prepared for it you are instantly dead! This game is not very forgiving in this area and you will end up smashing your control!
If you somehow survived this first section and reclaim your ship part, you have to take part in a space shooter section, travelling to a new planet and fighting off more enemies before landing and then doing the same as the first stage and get a part then escape. When I realised this I couldn't continue this game anymore and gave up! Fuck this game! Stay away from it!
