Mini Mario & Friends: Amiibo Challenge

released on Jan 28, 2016

In the free-to-play game Mini Mario and Friends Amiibo Challenge, Tap an amiibo figure on the Wii U GamePad controller or New Nintendo 3DS system (or to a Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS system using the Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer accessory) to guide one of 11 minis across more than 60 levels. Players can tap any compatible amiibo figure. Or, by tapping specific amiibo figures, players can guide minis that have exclusive level sets or their own unique abilities, like mini Mario’s wall jump or mini Yoshi, who can eat enemies.

It's a cute idea, but the game isn't all that impressive. Sad that Daisy isn't in it though.

I'm trying to imagine a world where someone would be convinced to get a new Amiibo just to play like 4 extra levels of this Mini Mario stuff and I can't help but start laughing. This gameplay is whatever but I had a couple of mario amiibos around so it was like 15 minutes of said whatever levels for "free". Eh

See now this is epic when you have amiibo

No it’s not. I lied. This is boring.

Sadly the most use amiibos have gotten outside of Smash.

A Mario vs. Donkey Kong game, but this one uses amiibo figures. Once you've played one of these, you've played them all.

Wasn't bad, just forgettable with generic level design
