Monster Rancher 1 DX is an updated version of Monster Rancher, featuring additional save slots, Freeze slots, Monster Hall of Fame slots, memos, rankings, and a high-speed mode. It was released together with Monster Rancher 2 DX in the Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX bundle.

Cute, but janky. Ok, Suezo may not be cute but you get the point.
This was surprisingly deep, yet welcoming and easy enough to beat without a lot of optimization. Pretty ahead of its time and genuinely fun too.
I initially got the new collection solely for MR2 but I think I'll be playing this for a while as well. Very neat surprise.
