Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is the first Mortal Kombat outing on the next-gen systems. New to DA is a completely revamped fight engine. The graphics are in full 3D and feature somewhat interactive environments. Each character now has different fighting stances, allowing them to be in an offensive stance or a fatality stance. Returning from past games are all your favorite fighters, and a host of new ones. Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, joined by such newcomers as Molloch and Quan Chi. Each character has their own specific fatalities.

All jokes aside, MK Deadly Alliance wasn't the sharpest sword in the bunch but it wasn't the dullest either.
Looking back at the roster, it wasn't a bad roster, it introduced a lot of new kharacters, be they even jobbers. (The song from the kharacter select screen is a certified hood classic)
Some fatalities were quite dubious, the gameplay was not the best thing ever, but at least it felt like MK.
The game suffered in my opinion because of the lack of game modes. The story mode they offered was very basic and uninteresting.

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance revitalized the franchise with a bold shift to 3D combat, introducing multiple fighting styles for each character and a darker, more grounded tone. The gory fatalities remain a visceral highlight, and the Krypt offers a wealth of unlockable secrets. While the combo system can feel unbalanced and the story mode lacks depth, Deadly Alliance stands as a satisfyingly brutal entry in the Mortal Kombat series, especially for fans seeking a departure from the classic gameplay.

Probably the worst game in the series, but it's still playable

A real mixed bag. Probably the worst MK roster ever. And while i don't mind the combat in the ps2 era, here the problems are at their most noticeable. Impaling is really busted, the AI is very inconsistent, the weird abilities like shoving and powering up are strange additions which correctly vanish going forward.
The way combo's are detected here is fucked up too, and again i noticed it getting fixed for deception. In deception you simply input the command and watch it go, but here you have to line up presses with animations which fucks everything up.

However, i do like it's chill konquest mode with it's little monk guy, and this probably has the best soundtrack in the series. I also really love Shang Tsung's outfit here.

It's Mortal Kombat. Great new mechanics, great fighting, as usual.
