Even with the 3 different types of races, it's still pretty repetitive by the end. No fast travel is pretty baffling, I guess it's to make you interact with the heat system more often but that's nothing to write home about.
Customization seems basically endless. I didn't engage too much with it because it felt almost overwhelming but if I wanted to spend 20 hours just customizing my collection down to the millimeter I totally could have.
Writing is... Hit or miss for sure. I will say that it is funny, sometimes intentionally, very often unintentionally. Soundtrack follows the trend - some good tunes but majority is forgettable.

Very fun game, captures well the essence of need for speed games (even has a fan service with a side mission related to nfs mw 05). Easy platinum, only one tricky trophy (Full House).

Badly balanced game. They really push you to boring grind, giving you rare opportunities to ride cool cars. I barely made it through week 1, but I couldn’t bare more weeks to ride just a few cars. The only thing probably that kept me that long through the game are the views of Chicago, nice graphics overall and sometimes funny dialogues. Multiplayer could also be better, because now it’s hard to find a race with more than 2 players. 5/10

In a lot of ways, Unbound is the NFS game I've wanted for a long time. The driving is really satisfying once you've tuned it to your preference. The races feel fair and when you win it really feels like you won because you drove well and customized your car properly. I even really like the new driving effects. That being said the game is still struggling with things NFS was struggling with 20 years ago. Like Underground 1, there's not enough race layouts so the ones that are there feel super repetitive by the end of the game. Like Underground 2, the pacing is super uneven and leads to moments of serious boredom. And like Carbon, the cop chases are good but they're still struggling to match Most Wanted. I do think this game is a really good step in the right direction for the franchise, but there' still a lot more steps to take for NFS to have a true comeback.

The best NFS in a while, which isn't saying much.
+Nice visuals
+Driving/Drifting feels nice
+Good selection of cars, parts, customisation
~Soundtrack is mixed. A couple good hits but overall disappointing
-The story, characters and dialogue especially are awful. EA need to stop with these cringey NFS campaigns
-No fast travel which is baffling considering past ones have it. Probably to pad the campaign. Made it feel like a drag navigating the map to get from one race to another
-Horrible implementation of cops
