Smooth gameplay and very satisfying progression system, but the loop of fighting very few enemies except for when a horde spawns which then signals you're about to fight an excessive number is a miss. The mix of set in stone rooms and procedurally generated 'filler' between then isn't bad but it doesn't really add anything either.
The visuals are once again a highlight, it's a shame they get undermined by the previously mentioned excessive number of enemies on screen during hordes.

Beautiful art that carries the overused concept. Way harder than I was expecting which wouldn't necessarily be bad but the biggest source of difficulty is how clunky and slow you move and attack.

Excels in what you'd expect, the music and the theme. Bit too on the nose for the latter but that's neither here nor there. Fun couple of hours for sure.
