The game is a side-scrolling "beat-'em-up" game, one or two players pick their desired Senshi and travel through various stages defeating enemies. Items are sometimes dropped by enemies that can range from items that restore health, give extra points, or crystals that allow the Senshi to perform special attacks. Up to five crystals can be collected per player to power up the Senshi's special attacks. During the most difficult moments in battle, Tuxedo Mask will appear and throw a rose, which is a bonus to pick up and depart.

Stylish but boring would be my tagline here. I played through it at a local arcade in college, and again today as a different Sailor Scout and frankly, the enemies have too much health and too little challenge. It feels like punching cardboard cutouts that just won't break.
But they LOOK amazing, like the animated special moves look amazing, the music sounds amazing, and the backdrops are amazing. It's just a shame it's all spent on enemies with hour long health bars and bosses that rely on completely evading you until you feed the machine the magic number of quarters.
