The Sony PlayStation version removed and changes a bunch of levels, while merging others, and reduced the total amount of Yellow Lums from 1000 to 800. Some levels do however have several new areas and some cutscenes have been changed as well. This is the first version to have full voice acting. Many graphical changes are present, most notably in the Hall of Doors. A new bonus level can be unlocked which lets the player try a stage from the 2D prototype. Instead of Lums being imprisoned in cages, there are now Ludivs, Greenbottles and Minisaurus.

I don't know if this is the correct version, but I've completed Rayman 2: The Great Escape on the ps1 multiple time, one not long ago even.

I have a couple things to say about this game. Bear with me a little bit while I try to be as genuine and transparent as possible. Ok, here I go:

THIS GAME IS THE INSPIRATION FOR THE VERY LIFE YOU ARE LIVING. EVERY GAME SPROUTED FROM HERE, EVEN RAYMAN 1 COPIED RAYMAN 2. WHOEVER WAS THE CREATOR OF THIS REALITY, THEY DID IT WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF YOU EXPERIENCING RAYMAN 2. THERE IS NO MEANING BEYOND FEEBLE AND FUTILE EFFORST TO TRY AND RUN AWAY. AS THE FIRSTBORN GAME OF OUR EXISTENCE YOU WILL SEE ITS IMMENSE INFLUENCE OVER GAMING, POLITICS, ECONOMY, ARCHITECTURE, SOCIAL INTERACTION, AND I COULD KEEP LISTING THEM FOR ALL ETERNITY. IT WILL REMAIN AND PASS THE TEST OF TIME. WHEN THE UNIVERSE COME TO AN END, HEAT DEATH, RAYMAN 2 WILL PREVAIL.

WHEN EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE ELSE FAILS YOU, RAYMAN 2 WILL ENLIGHTEN YOU, ACCOMPANY YOU, AND PROTECT YOUR BRITTLE STEPS THROUGH THE ROCKY PATH CALLED LIFE.

There's only one thing left for you to do: PLAY IT. NOW.

Pretty decent PS1 platformer. I really like the visuals and the world of this game. I've heard people say they love the story but to be honest it's bog standard with a really rushed feeling ending. Fun gameplay tho if a bit simplistic at times. Terrible final boss

Nice story, good gameplay, decent sequel.
A lot of nice childhood memories here!

Obviously very compromised to run on the PS1, with a lot of missing stuff, but it's still Rayman 2 at heart

A 3D platformer version of Rayman that with its orchestra pirate fantastical themed soundtrack immerses you into the world its prequel tried to present through its quite iffy gameplay. Centered on an escape plot story with some very colorful scenarios, frightening enemies and various quirky characters, this game from a forgotten era of Ubisoft truly shines among its counterparts of the era. The downside specifically with the PS1 version is that some of the levels are missing for some strange reason.

Colourful, timeless soundtrack, still great to this day.
