A remaster of Sonic the Hedgehog
A remastered port of Sonic the Hedgehog for mobile platforms, adding many improvements over the original version, such as the spindash, widescreen support and new playable characters. Run and spin through loop-de-loops as you collect rings and defeat enemies on your mission to save the world from the evil Dr. Eggman.

the addition of the spindash kinda saves this game
The best version of Sonic 1, but also suffers from being, well, Sonic 1. The changes are nice but doesn't do much to fix the level design.
This game is so fun for the first level before becoming a boring difficult slog. It must have been revolutionary for its time and i understand why it's loved, but as someone with no nostalgia for it I can't have fun playing it now and i will probably never beat it.

when you make sonic 1 control like sonic 2 with no consideration for the level design it's no wonder why so many people think this game sucks. what christian whitehead did for CD was a miracle, but for this game it was damnation.
