Star Castle is a 1980 vector arcade game by Cinematronics. The game involves obliterating a series of defenses orbiting a stationary turret in the center of the screen. The game was designed by Tim Skelly and programmed by Scott Boden. Tim Skelly also created a number of other Cinematronics titles, including Starhawk, Armor Attack and Rip-Off. As with many other titles by the company, Star Castle was ported to the Vectrex video game console in 1983.

A slightly better take on multi-directional threat management than Polaris, but nowhere near as engaging or nice to look at as Phoenix or Galaxian.

It’s pretty much an Asteroids clone that focuses on destroying the Star Castle, I guess, in the middle of a bunch of rings, and that is about it. It is impressive for 1980, given the graphics, and it did provide a bit of fun, but I’ll probably just stick with Asteroids whenever I want to play a game like this.
