Super Bust-A-Move introduces some new elements to the series (and removes some others): Large bubbles are found in certain levels. Shooting a bubble of the same color at them makes every bubble in the level change into that color. In some levels, the pointer and the bubbles that are shot are of a very small size, enabling the player to shoot bubbles between small gaps. These bubbles grow into normal size after being clustered. Occasionally, a conveyor belt will surround the level. This makes bouncing off the ceiling and the walls significantly tricky, since the bubbles' trajectory will change upon bouncing. Levels do not always have the usual rectangular shape. Some of them are jagged or have walls inside them, which forces the player to change strategy. Small blocks appear in some levels. They change the bubbles' trajectories, much like walls, but they move down with the level and fall off when they touch the line. The pulley system introduced in Puzzle Bobble 4 is nowhere to be seen. Chain Reaction is only present in 2P battles, but it is completely optional.

Oh come on, this game is more than just a bald baby blowing a spit bubble on the cover art.

This, alongside its sequel, is easily one of my favourite Puzzle Bobble entries going from its sleek Y2K art style. I honestly love everything about the "Super" series of games even if Bub or Bob are restricted to minor roles than they were in previous installments.

This is one of the worst puzzle games I've played like bro how do you make a port of Puzzle Bubble that's this slow and awkward.

At least this game has Mr. Catch

managing to somehow ignore the fact that this cover is a punishment issued by god upon those unfortunate enough to have wandered into a gamestop in the early 2000s, this shit is incredible

there's something to be said about the mechanical strength of games like super bust-a-move, or tetris, or any low-resource puzzle game on hardware that dwarfs the requirements. it always feels beyond smooth

Hmm, let's see, what ps2 game shall i play today...white, white, white, white, ORANGE BABY SHADES BUBBLE, white, white...

Great game tho.

É... Acho que essa série deu o que tinha que dar. Talvez Super seja uma excelente porta de entrada para novos jogadores, mas para quem jogou os anteriores ele não traz absolutamente nada de novo.
