Super Mario Land DX is a romhack of the original Super Mario Land for the Game Boy that turns the game into a Game Boy Color game. It adds color and changes the graphics to give the game a modern look.

Moai Jumpscare ahhh!?? 🗿🗿🗿 I had a fun time, the recolor really updated the visuals of a game I'm not sure I would've played otherwise. For standard SM Land stuff, they were definitely still figuring out how to design a full Mario game for the gameboy, but what they have here isn't bad, fun albeit a bit rough. I think the level design was fine until we got to Super Moai Land, so I'm not gonna comment on it. Do feel like I was fighting the controls a bit, they're certainly very stiff compared to any other Mario game I've played. Music was good :) Idk this was a fun cheery time, will probs come back and play every once and awhile and also give Luigi a go.
I mean it's better then the original black and white version I guess? But still I could honestly give less of a shit about Mario Land, know people like it for being quirky, but man it's just NOT fun to play
It's as Super Mario Land as Super Mario Land can get, but this time in colour, and with playable Luigi! Yes, I am easy to please.
I've always honestly had a soft spot for Mario Land, from its setting and music to its bite sized length, so a prettier version is going to be a bit of an easy sell for me. If you didn't really gel with the original, this isn't going to change your mind, since those wacky ass physics are still here and accounted for, but I'll always welcome another half hour of my life to be killed by a single sitting run of one of Mario's most unique adventures.

The definitive way to play the game since you get Luigi and hard mode (which really isn't hard at all) right off the bat. That being said, it's still Super Mario Land so if you didn't care for it before due to the different physics you probably won't like it here. I'm a big fan of the game myself hence why I really enjoyed this enhanced version. <shrug>
first cartridge i played on my analogue pocket, beat it, and then found out this DX hack existed. obviously not a perfect mario game by any stretch but a very fun game to just pick up and try to speedrun randomly
This was a Mario game. It doesn't control great, its got solid music. and neat enemies. That's really it. The DX romhack makes the game look very pretty though. That's all I can really say. Yain't missing much from this game.
