Terra Cresta

Terra Cresta is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up. The player controls a ship, initially with limited firepower. Numbered pods appear containing further parts of the ship that will increase firepower. These additional parts combine with the player's ship to increase its firepower, and the final module transforms it into a fiery phoenix which is invulnerable for a certain period of time. Once the ship has multiple sections, the player may also split it, allowing it to fire in multiple directions. The player begins with three lives and it is possible to play with either one or two players.

Where the first one felt more like Galaxian, this one is more akin to Xevious with the differentiator being the power ups that let you split your ship into a formation of vehicles to cover more area. Beyond that, it's still a pretty basic vertical shooter.

It's alright for its time, has some stupid stuff like being able to skip the final boss if you die in certain sections or randomized enemy formations spawning after you die which makes recovery annoying. It's really not that hard to 1cc though. The hard dipswitch is very interesting too.

Nichibutsu fans be like "Y'all sleeping on this one".
Yes, I am.
This game sucks.
Good night.
