Pretty fun to figure out with a friend

I love the minimalist aesthetic that contrasts with the complexity of some of the later puzzles. the game is constantly forcing you to re-examine your understanding of solutions to previous puzzles in order to make inferences about the current rules of the new puzzle. It's hard to imagine the amount of foresight that goes into this level of puzzle design.

The minimalist art goes hand in hand with the simple, yet deceptively difficult gameplay. If you've played The Witness, this game is probably going to be right up your alley, and it's a shame that it's so slept on - on this website, at least.

There's something I really like about games where you have to figure out the rules yourself with very little guidance other than some symbols and despite a few pitfalls (a couple of the puzzle themes fall a touch flat) Understand does an admirable job with its very minimalist pallette in this specific puzzle sub-genre.

Frustrating but very satisfying game to solve puzzles in. My slight gripe would be the game's tendency to lead to you towards one solution with the first few parts of a level which is secretly wrong for the rest, and I find it /suuuper/ hard to get out of mental cul-de-sacs like that. But all in all, remarkably solid puzzle game for how simple it is.
