Solid controls, colorful visuals, and a decent action adventure design for an arcade game.

While I can get how appealing it may be given how different it was from mamy of its arcade contemporaries, the game feels like it's only ever trying to deceive you, whether it be through nonsensical hitboxes or esoteric secrets. Feels like something you bang your head against until you break through, rather than something you understand and learn to master.

Superior a la primera entrega en todo menos en el apartado artístico. El factor RPG y la variedad le suma algún punto. Entretenido.

I made it to the final level, got to one of the boss refights, but then the timer ran out. Keep in mind I no longer have a health potion.
I get kicked back to the title screen cuz lol, turns out this game has limited continues.
While it is quite fun for a bit, near the end it just becomes an annoying slog and a massive pain in the ass to play. The combining of rpg elements with a standard platformer is neat, but it ends up feeling cryptic as hell at points and just doesn't work well.
Stick with the Master System port, I hear that's better.

Almost hit the mark. But the repetition and blandness of the level design, platforming, to boss fights make this an improvement on the first game, but not much more. Thankfully the sequel improved heavily.

I like this game a lot. It's a really unique experience that combines the sidescrolling action platformer with aggressive and intense arcade sensibilities, making for a distinct and memorable game. It can be a bit on the frustrating side and money is admittedly not very comfortable to deal with (unless you do the money glitch) but I really do enjoy how fast paced it feels. Would love to see this formula done again, with maybe a bit more QoL.

As a side note, I love the Monster World direction. That is what Wonder Boy is to me, the original Wonder Boy in my opinion a lot less interesting and fun. Was glad it split off into Adventure Island so Monster World could thrive.
