I wanted to play something like Ragnarok Online and the internet recommended me this: MapleStory. It is nothing like RO. But I still played it for a long time, had fun and everything, but I wouldn't play it again. The grind is endless.

boring af now, but i unfortunately played it during its peak in the 2000s. maplestory has been a massive turning point on the asian video game market. it's messy, grindy, and the localization is atrocious, but still managed to capture some bits of my childhood due to how charming it is.

Around sixteen years ago I remember actually getting an equipment drop from some rat, panicked with surprise, forgot to heal, and then died and never had the chance to pick it up.

Not sure if it's nostalgia, but I think Maplestory still holds up as a solid MMO. Although it appears to have lost its social aspect that it used to have, Maplestory has charming and timeless art style and sound design.

Just found out about Maple Story is in here. This was my first MMO a long way back and it was very fun. It's not the same game now so... Chibis haha, well.

First played in 2004 and hopped on and off again over the years. Played a bit on the reboot servers and enjoyed the new way of the game. Played a bit on private servers to feel the nostalgia again. I sind a week into the game and then quit for 1-3 years before my next dive.
Great memorys, but would not recommend to play it today if you are not familiar with the game. Spend you time wiser.

The Brazilians servers were incredible. Only good memories from this game. I understand that this is not a technically good game, but my heart can't say a bad thing about it
