Good enough as a multiplayer runner, matches are quick and it's basically the equivalent of Mario Kart Tour for Sonic games. I like the character designs here a lot and basically every major Sonic character is playable, including some unique redesigns.

Unfortunately, Speed Battle falls into the same trap as Clash Royale or similar games, gating character unlocks and even their respective upgrades behind lootboxes, which take several real-life hours to open up. Even then, you don't just get characters like that, they're locked behind a card system, so you could get like 20 out of 90 cards for Knuckles out of a chest, and it'd still take you some time to get him. Or you could pay, and buy something like this advertised 4X VALUE pack in the shop to get 1000 cards for Chaos instantly and you even get 75k coins on top - if that isn't a good deal, then what is. All for the low price of 60€. Not to mention that those deals are so good, the game has to constantly remind you of them through pop-ups whenever you just browse through the main menu. Also, you're forced to watch ads after every match. Awesome.

it is a real shame the mobile spinoff is better than the real game

You gotta give them credit for not naming this one "Sonic Forces Dash" or "Sonic Dash 3: Sonic Forces". I'm sure that took a lot of restraint.

Tikal and Chaos are playable!
Anyway, way more fun than the main game.

to the guy who beat me in my first real match by one inch i will find you. i haven't forgotten

I don't really like games where you can loose more than 20 trophies because other player gained their first place or becasue of internet connection dropping

But I still give this game a "fair" score just because it's a little diffrent then other mobile runners, even if it's pretty poor (there's only one multiplayer mode after almost 3 years lmao)

IF I SEE ANOTHER FUCKING SURGE USER IM GONNA BREK SOMETHING

Used to like this game quite a bit, now it's fallen in my mind as I've stopped playing it.

Its Sonic Dash but with less charm. Still pretty good though.

Unironically better than Sonic Forces. It's definitely the best of the Sonic Dash games and it has quite a lot of characters to get, although actually getting them is a grind.

I kinda got into this game. The character costumes are super fun to collect and the game itself is pretty fun for an online mobile game.

good just good,
i play it because of the variety of characters to play as
and playing against someone else

I use Blaze a lot, but when you are rank 4000 and up, you get matched up by level 10 and up with common characters

time waster but fun

fiquei viciado nisso por 2 semanas e depois nunca mais abri (da pra matar um tempo jogando)

evertime i come back to dis game i forget how much i love it :D

bem mais ou menos so que é legal

Somehow this has more content, replayability, and much more fanservice put into it than the actual console game lol

Better than the game it's based on at least

Sonic Forces: Speed Battle really captived me with its simple yet engaging gameplay. The matches are quick and short and great to play on mobile, even though the gameplay is a simple runner, competing against 3 other players online really adds to the experience. Using items is fun, and the variety of characters pleases me a lot as a Sonic fan. I just wish it had a little more depth with its mechanics, maybe by adding more systems outside of battle. I really like to play a couple matches every day to get some cards, and more characters are added frequently, even my GOAT Gamma got in, I hope they keep supporting this game, its simplicity impresses me.

Quite fun! Bite-sized gameplay that keeps you on your toes. Any purchase will remove after-match ads if you like it. There's no confirmation when buying things, be careful not to waste your RSR money.

Oddly enough this game is quite fun for a mobile vs racing game. Inspired by Sonic Dash with items to hurt your opponents during the race. I sadly got bored of it after a while but I liked it for the little time I spent playing it.

Another sequel to Sonic Dash, kind of. This takes the autorunning gameplay and put it onto specially designed courses, where the object is to race to be the first to the finish line, avoiding obstacles and using power ups to battle other racers.

For a while, I wasn’t sure if I was racing real people or not. They have names of other people, but I know from other mobile games (like Mario Kart World Tour), that these are often fake and you’re just racing AI using random people’s names. The lack of any ability to play with friends is also usually a sign that there’s no actual online multiplayer, and none of the racers seemed to act like real people, and were really easy (to the point I even did one race while cooking, occasionally swiping and hitting loads of obstacles…and still won).

That was until I got to around 1000 points into the ranking system (1st place gets you around 27ish points), all of a sudden the game got much more challenging, and the opponents moved around more, used similar tactics to what I had been doing, used power ups more and just acted more human. I suspect that initially I was paired with AI disguised as players before it started pairing me with real people. If the racers were balanced and it didn’t have horribly aggressive microtransactions and loot boxes…it could be a pretty fun mobile game.

But it’s not balanced at all. In order to facilitate the many kinds of microtransactions, the game is based around unlocking and upgrading characters, so you’ll just face opponents with outright better (or worse) characters. This is done by collecting “cards”, you need X amount to unlock them and then Y more to upgrade them. It varies between characters and some cards are a lot rarer (with others only available in special time limited events). I did end up getting quite a few characters within a few days: Sonic, Classic Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Silver (I got so, so many Silver cards), Charmy, Omega, Vector, and Tangle (a character from the comics). One interesting omission is Infinite, the character introduced in Sonic Forces.

However, once you’ve got most of the “common” characters, progression is probably extremely slow to get more. Unless you pay for them multiple types of premium currency, loot boxes or (some some characters) deals that unlock a specific character (Shadow was available when I played for £4.49, which is quite a lot).

I think it would be nice if the final patch of the game let you play against AI and choose the level you want to play, but ultimately, I think that the servers will just be shut down at some point and the game will be unplayable.

the way this is unironically better than the actual sonic forces

somehow better than the game it's based on. has tangle and whisper which makes my brain tingle

More of an interactive advertising than a "Game." Races last around under a minute, with 9/10 you get an ad that last just as long. Theres constant ingame pop-ups going on and on about "BUY THIS!!" and "REMEMBER TO BUY THE VAULT" its horrible. The gameplay would be fine if it weren't stuttering constantly when particle effects are on screen.

This is more fun than the game its based off. Let that sink in.

it's okay. i like the competitive angle more than the endless runner style of sonic dash, but it's still just kind of a time waster at best. i play it when i'm waiting in line for things and at no other points in my life.

While it can be fun, it's was not worth the time I wasted playing it, wish I got Excalibur Sonic too.
I don't really recommend this one.

Coming from someone who kind of likes Forces, this is the best thing to come out of Forces.

An enjoyable blend of the endless running and racing genres with a link to the then-newest mainline Sonic game that gets weaker with every update. It's a pretty unique and fun Sonic mobile experience that's always fun to check into every now and again.
