It's not as bad as I feared—Rage Wars is just kind of milquetoast, barely distinguishing itself from its contemporaries. This is a run-of-the-mill Quake knockoff on the Nintendo 64, but it's a pretty solid arena shooter given its platform. Rage Wars delivers a variety of single player and multiplayer game modes, and by playing those game modes, you'll unlock even more game modes, characters, and player skins. The profile feature lets you bring your progress between consoles via a memory card, allowing you to bring that memory card to parties, play with your buddies, and progress further. It's barely a Turok game, but I guess that doesn't really matter if it's still an overall fun experience.

The weapons are unique therefore interesting to experiment with. Movement is unusual since you move with the C buttons, not your joystick as you usually would. There is no lore, other than characters, and I assume backgrounds, from the original lore. The game is violent, but other than shooting others manically, there are challenges where you collect flags, and try to kill many transformed individuals, and the transformation switches over to other participants after one of the transformed individuals has been killed. The bosses can be fun or painfully long. To finish the game fully it takes ages, and you can say goodbye to any of your progress and new characters if you do not have an expansion pack. Also the music is intense and suitable for the atmosphere, sounds posses good quality and the characters are terrific-looking, but that's Turok. This game is fun in multiplayer, but can get pretty repetitive if in single-player + you want to unlock everything.

Can't believe nobodys reviewed this. I loved this game when I was a kid. Incredibly cool and bizarre array of weapons like the Emaciator (which makes your character ridiculously skinny) and the Inflator (uh opposite). Bro, you could play as a velociraptor and these weird parasitic Mites. Tons of characters and skins. Great music and sfx. Its definitely got its faults though. Biggest of which is a glitch inherent in the original, black cartridge that prevents completion of the game. The company offered a mail-in replacement cartridge (grey) to make up for it. Super-rare if you've got one
