This is the only edgy media I care for and PLEASE never watch the anime, it kills every single character's style and fun portrayal and takes everything way too seriously, making it one of the worst edgy things ever.
The game, somehow, manages to make the characters likeable, almost like a edgy teenager that you grow up to love cuz they're really just a nice kid but really edgy.

Despite playing all the classic rpgmaker games released in the 2010s, and having an unhealthy obsession with creepypasta, I somehow missed this 2016 gem? Better late than never I guess! Very weird and unique story, interesting characters, classic rpgmaker gameplay and puzzles, plus a kickass soundtrack!

EXTREMELY UNDERRATED GAME!!!!!!!
SO fun to play. the story is so good and all the characters have interesting motives and just AAAAAGH ITS SO GOOD.
rachel gardner you will always be famous

a mi m gustó no es el mejor juego d rpg maker pero está xulo

cool story and puzzles. the music is pretty good too.

i played just cuz of the anime

I think i didn't like this as much as a lot of other rpgmaker horror games but I thought this was alright, for a good while i got really annoyed by rachel and zack's dynamic before kinda seeing the vision unfold later on as they become friends and finding them both endearing by the end

You know what is really wrong with this game?

But really though this definitely is one of the best story driven RPG maker horror games I think I have played. Gameplay is kind of meh, but the tragic, messed up story that unfolds is one I won't soon forget. Never thought I would be so impressed with how good a serial killer's character development could be and how much I enjoyed the character Zack is. I feel like this game could definitely use a fresh coat of paint and get a remake like Witch's house and some others have gotten. Makes me wanna check out the anime they made a few years back, pretty good stuff.

i can't praise this game enough! while aod did a lot with the limited gameplay allotted the rpgmaker genre (the chase scenes were genuinely terrifying,) the most memorable part of this game is the narrative; it doesn't pull its punches around the central theme, death. as the main leads, the chemistry between ray and zack is nothing less than iconic, and zack himself is an unforgettable character. this game knew exactly what it wanted to be, and executed that vision flawlessly.

WAHHHHHHH WHY MAKE THEM SO CUTE JUST TO DROP TRAGEDY UPON MY FIRST BORN

I do love stoic protagonists in RPGs

JUGADLO YA A QUÉ ESTÁIS ESPERANDO

really fun vibes. the story is like, whatever. you're really just in this to have a lil fun and be a lil silly

A good RPG horror maker game that is definitely from the time period many others came out. Has a very neat story that left me feeling conflicted in a good way about who to root for.

I played this after watching the anime originally and immediately wanted to 1. Make a Zack Cosplay and 2. Read the Prequel manga.
This is a VEEEERY good game and has fascinating characters with some absolutely tragic stories.
Must play if you like RPGMAKER Style Horror games

"So that's why they made it an anime huh"
- Me in 2021 after playing this

weird as hell (i liked it very much)

i learned to appreciate this game more after realizing how awful the anime was at adapting this game. there are so many gruesome yet endearing moments in the game that the anime forcibly rips out. boo

I had a brainrot bc of this game when I was 14 and 5 years later it still makes me want to cry.
Peepers

Una sorpresa este juego, 0 expectativas y termino encantandome su protagonista y la historia

Fun rpgmaker game. Didn't watch the anime. Also go play Noel the Mortal Fate, another fun rpgmaker game in the same vain as this one.

EU JOGUEI ESSA MERDA E LI O MANGÁ E ASSISTI O ANIME POR ALGUM MOTIVO

please god have mercy on me with those chase scenes

i finally revisited this game after seven years. i didn't think highly of it when i first played, but this time it felt much worse.

while this game was made in rpgmaker, it didn't feel much like an rpgmaker, most especially in the second half of the game. this could have very well been a visual novel. exploration and puzzling-solving felt limited. in fact, i can only think of one significant puzzle that was fun. in the second half of the game, it practically becomes a walking simulator. the maps are simple and uninteresting as well. it didn't feel like there was much substance to its environmental design.

as for the story, i don't even know what to say. it throws in dark themes simply for the sake of being dark and edgy. it reads like a creepypasta. just actually jeff the killer. i'd rather not spoil much, but basically there are buzzwords thrown around without having much meaning behind them. for example, religious themes are thrown around without delving too much into christianity itself; rather, it is the veneer of christianity without having to give these characters concrete belief systems (which, in turn, results in 2 dimensional personalities). and not to mention this ringing bell sound effect that plays when something is supposed to be "emotional." character motivations are confusing and actively contradict things they say before. a majority of the cast is trope-y and hard to care about. i feel as though characters (especially side characters) we were meant to care about get one small blurb about their backstory and nothing much to tie it back to their present self, which is an important part of development. if backstories were presented, they were mentioned in some easily forgettable monologue. character growth, while visible, is limited because there is just no way of knowing what they are growing FROM. dialogue was repetitive and oftentimes broke immersion. there are loose references to what should be significant cornerstones of a character's personality, and even those cornerstones are vague and lack elaboration. by the end of it, i was spamming the confirm key just to get the story over with. if zack weren't such a goofy character i likely would have dropped the game. in fact, he may be the best written character in the entire game. his illiteracy was well utilized as a concept, both in terms of story and within gameplay. i wish it had been used more in gameplay, as it would have enhanced some mystery within the story.

also, this game does not like to tie up loose ends; many plot holes were left.

i feel this kind of relationship would have been so interesting to explore. a dynamic where one is dependent on being killed by the other is a fascinating concept, but it felt like none of it was planned out. perhaps it would have improved if one could have seen more internal dialogue from both of our main characters, but the game lacks such self-introspection. why does zack feel the way he does about rachel? why does rachel need to be killed specifically by zack? and my biggest question is what makes them care about each other at all? there is so little foundation for what could have been an intriguing dynamic that everything else afterwards leaves nothing for me to care about.

i am just shocked that this developer also created forest of drizzling rain. the characters in that game were very well thought out, and the story ties itself up rather well. angels of death was simply so flat and hard to care for when everything is a contradiction or something that is overpowered by zack's inhuman physique. i could name so many other rpgmakers that deserved an anime much more than this game.

zack......... you absolute dumbass... ily

I loved this game so much, the characters are so interesting and so is the story! The ending is quite open and leaves you wondering about a lot of things (which I can't say otherwise I'd have to mark it as a spoiler). I recommend this game a lot, and I'm eager to try Eddie's chapter!
