I was one of those cool kids that liked Bakugan more than Pokemon, and this game is part of the reason why. It's is seriously one of the best adaptations ever made. Does that mean it's an incredible experience that everyone needs to play before they die? No. I mean that this game combines elements from the physical game and the show to make you feel like you are really playing Bakugan with Dan and co. It literally puts you at the center of the story, throwing fan service moments at you that still manage to make adult me giddy. That is something most adaptations can't say.
It controls rather well for a Wii game, especially if you lean into the jank and master it. The soundtrack is incredible, as in it (along with Sonic) help shape my taste in music. Most of the show's voice cast returns which helps with that immersion. The multiplayer is very fun, even if your friends never heard of Bakugan. To anyone who liked the show and/or the game, please play this.

one of my favorite childhood license games. we only had cartoon network for a little bit as kids so i only remembered bits and pieces from the anime and if i wanted to watch more we had to go to our grandma's house which wasn't often. so this game was the perfect substitute. the gameplay is completely broken and easy id you know how to strategize but god dammit it makes me feel like a battle brawler everytime i play it.
Very simple shovelware. Surprisingly good modelling for a shovelware ds game, but very little depth of gameplay. Cant get the motivation to power through it nowadays, although long ago I did it as a child.
Tied to the anime maybe but I have no idea what's going on there lol. Take this review with a grain of salt.

FUCK YEAH BAKUGAAAAAAAAAAN BRAWL
It's surprising how much effort they put into what could've just been another shovelware game.
The game handles the motion controls surprisingly well (except in the Rhythm minigame), and it feels super satisfying to navigate the Arenas.
The models also look great for the Wii, the stylization really makes them pop and come to life.
The campaign's nothing great, but it's passable. Nobody's playing this game for the story anyway.
One gripe that I do have about the game is that it can feel too grindy at times, especially when you want to try out new combinations.
I don't think "Bakugan Upgrade is complete!" will ever leave my cranium space.
