Reznov is one of gaming's greatest badasses. Period. The Russian campaign is the most entertaining whereas the American offensive is hit or miss. The multiplayer is one of the lamest due to the slow weapons which terminally slows the pace of matches down. The introduction of zombies was in this game though so that's a plus. Overall, it's just an average call of duty game.

Some really interesting ideas, but also some bizarrely paced levels and really weak sound design with all of the weapons in the game. The Soundtrack was pretty inconsistent too, sometimes resorting to electric guitars during horrific acts of war, but also shining through on levels like Black Cats where the thumbing percussion perfectly captured the chaos of war. Glad I finally played it, but I can't see myself revisiting it at any point sadly.
Amazing game the campaign had the best vibe super dark and disturbing like a ww2 game should be. Plus the use of multiple factions added so much. The zombies gamemode was goated but the multiplayer needed more depth. Also the campaigns grenade spamming gets so annoying on veteran. Overall still amazing.
Extremely atmospheric. Felt like a horror movie at times with its aesthetic. To me, World at War is just a slightly downgraded COD4. The campaign isn't as gripping (I only cared about the Russian storyline) and feels like it took a step backwards with graphics a little bit (although it helps with the atmosphere), but other than that, they feel like the same game fundamentally, just with a different setting and weapons. It's not a bad thing though. I still had a blast with the campaign, thanks to most of the level design being superb. The multiplayer is also fun (despite it pretty much being COD4). Let's not forget that this game also introduced Zombies. Treyarch did a great job with this game. Going back to this after playing Black Ops 1 hits different. That's all I'm gonna say.
So this is the first game with IW 3.0 game engine and this game engine is my favorite out of all the game engines they used for the cod games. The game movement in this game just feels so perfect. This isn't the first World War 2 game they made for the Cod series but it's definitely the best one. I played all of them and story wise and gameplay wise with the WW2 setting it's amazing. One of the weapons you get use to often is the flamethrower and it's just absolutely a blast. With this game compared to the other WW2 Cod games the levels generally looked actually different and played different. With other WW2 Cod games all the levels were generally the same looks wise and gameplay wise but World At War was just so much better. Especially with the environment for example with the flame thrower you could flame trees. I do wish this game a little more missions because I did finish it fairly quick but I guess the Campaigns for the Cod series aren't the selling point. Overall this game is just amazing, there isn't much or any flaws in it. I would highly recommend playing it.
