This is a very fun Resident Evil clone. To the surprise of nobody, the setting had so much potential that it was used in 3 future Resident Evil games (Dead Aim, Gaiden, and Revelations). Shockingly, I think the setting was done the best here in Carrier. The atmosphere this game provides is really unnerving, which works very well in it's favor, since it's a straight up Survival Horror title. If you're a fan of the first three Resident Evil games, plus RE0, REmake, Code Veronica, and the Outbreak games, then you should love this. The mood and the ambience here is superb. Hearing the subtle waves hitting the ship, mixed with the creepy moans of your enemies creates a very unnerving experience, which works brilliantly. The puzzles here are quite good, the story is radiantly ridiculous, and rescuing the other survivors on the ship is a very fun system that's unique to this game. This title is pretty expensive now, but I'd say it's definitely worth playing.

Resident Evil, but on an aircraft carrier with plant-zombies. What more could you ask for? Well, a lot, but this was still an alright game.

Mechanically sound but creatively bankrupt. The plot isn't "so bad it's good," it's just straight up boring and even the silly voice acting can't enhance it. Level design ranges from uninteresting to fucking awful. I don't usually mind a little backtracking, but when you have to go back and forth between the same four, bland, bloated rooms three times in a short span just to progress, I get really irritated. I just feel so betrayed because Dave from Classic Game Room said this was better than RE3. He was wrong. You lied to me, Dave.
