I don't like the villagers.

roguelike com administração
mistura perfeita

The cult mechanichs were useless and boring in relation to the gameplay.
I would've preferred to discard that part and polish the dungeons more.

KKKKKKKKKKK

The cult of the lamb, which contains 2 modes at once, clean up the poop after your devoted fanatics, and then after that. play the cut-down version of Isaac on minimal settings. Everything in this game is good, from animation to sound, but too little, I would like more mechanics.

love the artstyle and soundtrack, the camp building part is solid but WOW the actual roguelike part of the game is a total snoozefest. also this game's obsession with poop/vomit is gross

"sopa de merda" melhor coisa

Jogin Bão 👍

só a otimização no PC que é meio paia :L

Confusing to begin but once you get the hang of it super fun! I like mashing keys and killing the bosses super quick! There's some weapons that I absolutely despise and will restart a run if I get them but that's just personal preference. Also enjoy naming my cult members silly names!

3.5★

it was pretty good but it fell off when they forced me into a new game plus and i had to restart the entire game because i missed a collectible before the new game plus

...

nah jk game is still really good cant lie

It has a very good artstyle and idea, but becomes very repetitive after a couple of hours.

Roguelites are now a field so crowded that you need something special to make it genuinely captivating to repeat dangerous dungeons over and over and over again while accruing incremental changes. Cult of the Lamb’s answer to this is to lace the game with irreverent cult humour, add a light city builder/social manager layer to break the monotony and to make every character into a whimsically cute cartoon animal. And what do you know - it’s the most fun I’ve had with a roguelite since Dungeons of Dredmor and stands head and shoulders above most entries into the genre.

I was going to leave the review there but I do have to elaborate slightly on the actual cult simulation side of the game and simply compliment how much fun it is to manage your little flock of faithful followers, controlling their daily lives according to your whims as they spend their days toiling and worshipping (and with the latest content patch, happily sinning) for you. While the action sequences are great, I found the cult simulator sections in-between so engaging that often I found myself more excited to spend more time with my little guys when logging on. The micromanagement isn’t burdensome and can be relaxed to cater to the player’s needs (and I do recommend toggling on the setting to stop time in the village whenever you go into a dungeon) so it never overstays its welcome - and in fact, I could imagine enjoying an alternative version of this game that fully focuses on this aspect in greater detail over the 50/50 split is now. It’s a lot of great fun and nicely breaks the tension between the more intense dungeon running.

game is ok but the fanfiction is good

It was alright. Pretty fun but I would have like more of that rogue part rather than "the sims" part.

This might be the first rogue like I’ve ever played and I think that was an amazing introduction. Even on Normal this didn’t prove too difficult for me to beat.
Although a little gorey and creepy, the game was somehow still pleasant to look at. The art style and sound design create an absolutely perfect atmosphere for the theme. I did like the level design as well, the promise of rewards always gets me to explore more thoroughly.
I really enjoyed the balance of “go smash demons on a crusade” and “take care of my little creatures” when I needed a break from the smashing and rolling. If you are looking for a challenge, however, I do recommend cranking the difficulty up from the get go.

I missed this when it was on Game Pass but picked up a Steam key for a tenner. If you don't know it, Cult of the Lamb is sort of like a town-building or farming sim with the twist that, instead of establishing a cutesy village à la Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, you play as a sweet little lamb who's been charged by a satanic figure to develop a ritualistic cult in his honour. As such, your primary currencies are the faith and devotion of your followers, who you can brainwash, sacrifice and cannibalise as you see fit. Like in other games of this type, your main objective is to keep everyone fed and happy. You, in turn, use your followers' reverence to establish gradually grander and more complicated buildings to fill your woodland commune.

When you're not building your cult, you embark on 'crusades' into the neighbouring forests, hacking and slashing through hordes of creepy crawly enemies in procedurally generated dungeons, searching for valuable resources to take home with you. This part of the game has a roguelike whiff to it, with randomised weapons to choose from at the beginning of each run and boons you pick up along the way in the form of tarot cards, like a very pared-back Hades. Unlike Hades, however, it's quite simplistic, really, with a lot of dodge rolling going on and not many synergies to plan for.

Overall, it's a difficult game to review because, on the one hand, I found it very addictive and played it for nearly twenty hours, including several late nights in bed on the Deck, but, on the other, it's not that far removed from a clicker game - certainly, in the town-building bits, you're spending most of your time watching numbers go up and meters refill, and not much else. It's also a bit too easy, and towards the end I was building things arbitrarily because I had nothing else to spend my followers' devotion on, not because what I was building added to the gameplay. There's been some new post-game content added since launch, but by the time the credits rolled I was done.

was pushed away from a pretty fun game by their dogshit twitter account

this was my summer 2023 game i enjoyed it!

kinda overrated, still completed it twice

Hey this game was fun! It felt a little weak on both sides of the game (roguelike + management) but was cute enough and good enough to make up for it.
