It's good, but you may as well play Endless Space 2.

Endless Space is great until you realize that you've either A) underbuilt your forces or B) have bad cards in space combat. It's an interesting strategy game for sure, but not one I was able to wrap my head around.

Actually a really big fan of the FIDS (Food, Industry, Dust, Science) system and the way that Space combat is portrayed. Definitely feels more like you're managing a space empire more than some other space 4X's.

Paved the way for an amazing sequel

Possibly the best space 4X game out there, besides the sequel of course. The FIDS system is very intuitive, there are plenty of ways to win, it's super addictive and it runs on a toaster.
Also, I prefer the more streamlined ship designer as opposed to something like Galactic Civilizations.

A very good game as far as I can tell (the UI is mostly pretty intuitive, the visuals are nice, and the writing is very interesting) but unfortunately I'm not nearly smart enough to play it
