Touhou but Scene aesthetic... kawaii...

There is stuff to like but if you press a button, you're starting the whole campaign over no matter how well you're doing because of some issues with the game, and it's so easy to press it.

If you have played The Binding of Isaac this feels like an eternal MegaSatan fight with a banger psy trance ost and anime characters.

The first game in the eXceed series, describing the gameplay probably doesn't matter as much as the fact that you probably won't be able to play it without a third party fix (or several).
That being said, it's good albeit a bit basic. You can graze enemy projectiles to charge a powerful special attack which I find specially noteworthy.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend buying this one on its own, but if you get it in the bundle containing the entire series then I guess you could consider it a bonus. Nevertheless, I applaud the labor of the people who took the time to fix this so we could play it.

One of the most games ever made

i think this would be really cool if it ran 2 hours of tweaking for 1 out of the 3 games to still run at a terrible fps with broken textures

good, but a lot of problems and not that good

I like the music and visual style of this game. Very mid 2000s-core. Sadly my experience with the steam port sucks. Game crashes way too easily. Also moves really slowly and the first level was going for way too long that I wasn't able to finish it.

Ctrl and Esc will take you out of your game with no prompts
You can see the very edges of the screen but you can't actually go on it
The final boss' final attack can only be summed up as complete bullshit, as can some random attacks from earlier bosses due to various attack elements not being properly telegraphed (Lack of audio cues is easily the biggest issue, it feels like the game wants me to look at myself and the boss at the same time!). And I played on the default difficulty (Easy)!
Framerate is inconsistent despite the game being over 15 years old.
