NewGrounds for nintendo fans, most of my weird memes knowledge from that time comes from flipnote

The people on this app put Scorsese to shame with some of the masterpieces I've seen.

This was the best, cutest little animation tool that I loved using. I was never good at creating animations, but it was great to see everyone else's.

It's truly a shame it hasn't come back in any way, aside from the gutted 3DS version that didn't even get a release outside of Club Nintendo. Here's hoping we can see it come back one day.

Played for the funny little frog. It’s really cool seeing some of the animations on here.

I'm surprised this is on here since it was an application more so than a game.

I couldn't draw at all, but seeing other animations online that others had done was fun. A Professor Layton animation someone did was probably partially responsible for me picking up the series.

Those epic stickmen animations were a huge part of my childhood!

This made me wish I had the patience for animation.

When Sonic oc emo animations used to mean something

chicken wings
chicken wings
hot dogs and bologna
chicken and macaroni
chillin' with my homies

Always loved this software and I'm confident that one day we'll see it back on the Switch or in future consoles.

Flipnote Studio gave everyone the possibility to share their creations on Flipnote Hatena, the online part of the software, and a lot of memes came out of it, other than genuinely good animations.

Such an amazing software that shouldn't go overlooked even now that the online got discontinued, a lot of people would love a proper sequel to this amazing drawing app!

How did people have the patience to do full actual animations on a DS screen. This is the game that absolutely convinced me that drawing wasn't my thing but hey, a few classic memes were born here, and I'm pretty sure lots of professional animators started here, on a DS screen, only able to use four colors.

I had this instead of newgrounds

The original version of Vine/Tik Tok/Instagram/YouTube Shorts. I used to spend hours on this thing watching funny videos and drawing creations that people would make. I would love it if Nintendo would make a switch version of it because of how much fun it was to interact with people on the internet. I strongly believe that Flipnote introduced many of the video sharing apps that we have today. Also now this game introduced me to my modern day YouTube addiction.

If I rated applications, it'd be easily 5 stars. So many memories with this little software.
(Also way better than its 3DS successor)

This was at a time in my life when I didn’t know how things worked. When I saw those individual picture turn into an animation my tiny mind was blown. I think Flipnote was my first exposure to my love for the art of animated media. Thanks Nintendo, very cool!

i was never skilled at using this application but i loved seeing what other people created with it, despite how limited it was. it's a little nostalgic looking back on old flipnote animations.

Unmatched creativity despite the hardware limitations, damn shame Nintendo discontinued it...

Was the best Nintendo social network for furries

i hope no one ever unearths the animations i made as a child

5/5 solely for Flipnote Hatena, aka "let your child use this online service, they won't grow up to identify as a gay pink fox online! trust us!"

"Chicken wing, chicken wing, hot dog and bologna" clears your favorite artist's entire discography, I'm sorry but it's the truth

i've only just now messed around for half an hour with this and i so badly wish this was something i had access to when i was younger. its really fun and easy to take your ds out of your pocket and animate something

I miss it so god damn much dude im crying

My life dramatically changed when I first found out about Hatena.

never could really make shit on it, but it was epic and i love it

I fucking love this so much. This was the nintendo verison of newgrounds lmao
