Haunt the House: Terrortown is a such a cute game both in concept and in art design. The gameplay is exactly what it says in the title. You play an adorable ghost who just wants some good old peace and quiet from the living, and so your objective is to possess various objects in order to scare people and get them to leave. The more you terrorize them, the more interaction you can do with the objects that you can possess. It's very simple, but this gameplay loop gets really old very fast and outside of achievements there isn't any unlockables, so there isn't much replay value unless you're bored and looking to waste time.

Eu quis algo remotamente ligado ao Halloween pra jogar na data então fui (re)visitar esse título aqui. Eu jogava isso em algum desses sites icônicos cheios de jogos em flash no passado e achava legalzinho demais.
No original, você controla um fantasminha que quer ficar em paz na sua mansão abandonada e então passa a possuir objetos para assustar as pessoas na casa até que elas não aguentem mais e saiam.

É muito simples e é charmoso ver as animações diferentes. Mas, além de novos cenários, animações e novos fantasmas, não foi adicionado mais nada nesse remake, nenhuma mecânica nova nem nada. E isso deixa tudo muito repetitivo e o charme se perde rápido e não tive vontade de completar todos os cenários, somente abri para ver como eram e larguei.

Porém, foi gostos rejogar algo do passado e eu ainda acho tudo muito bonitinho apesar de simples.

Adorable, simplistic game. You are a ghost haunting residents! The art style and animation is wonderfully whimsy. They had a strong art direction and 100% went with it. The bright colors, the fun animation, to even the music choice.

Unfortunately, the controls were lacking. There were countless times I would possess an object and immediately jump out without hitting any button. The menu would occasionally pop up too. You could be playing and suddenly the menu would open asking if you wanted to leave the game, all without touching your ESC key.

To beat the game, you're required to scare every resident off the map. You have a counter so you can keep track of them. Beating the game only took me a little over an hour.

I was trying to collect the achievements but between the controls and no counter for possessing every item, I lost interest. It's a cute fun game to haunt, but the achievements just made the game frustrating.

Haunt the House was one of my favorite flash games so it's great to be able to play it again with new additional levels (which are amazing by the way) but I can't help but say how much the controls bother me (on android at least) it is very difficult to control the ghost and the people's artificial intelligence in this one it's really quite annoying, they go around the house a thousand times extremely scared but they don't go away at all, they keep running and repeating the steps as if they were trapped, really annoying.
