Heroes of Might and Magic II on the Game Boy Color is an ambitious attempt to bring the beloved turn-based strategy experience to a handheld console. While it admirably captures the essence of its PC counterpart, the GBC version suffers from a simplified interface, occasional slowdown, and reduced scope compared to the original. Yet, for strategy fans on the go, it offers a surprisingly deep and engaging experience with its mix of exploration, conquest, and resource management.

the Game Over screen is the top of a guillotine framed by a sunset over a mountain range, and when you press a button the blade drops. Goes kinda hard.
