How the fuck does someone come up with a game like this? Imagine being a kid around when this came out. You hear Sonic and Mario are finally getting a cross-over and it's this???????
I think, I'd hang myself.
Either way, boring game.

Surprised to see the disdain for our heroes Mario and Sonic! Come on man, this thing's a classic!

MEU DEUS DO CEU, EU VOU DELIRAR, ALGUEM ME SEGURA, UM DOS MELHORES DE FATO, É SINISTRO, É MARAVILHOSO, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, COMO DA 6 ESTRELAS????????????????????????????????????????

It's no Wii Sports, but it's got a ton of fun minigames up its sleeves.

loved it
but winter was better

A bizarre idea for a crossover, and definitely lacking in places compared to the two games immediately after it, but still a very fun multiplayer experience. Many a Wii Remote was accidentally tossed in my younger days.

This could’ve just been a sports game. Mario and sonic feel so unnecessary. If it were just a sports game it’d be pretty mediocre

This game lowkey is worse than this but nostalgia is one heck of a drug

Allégorie de la guerre froide.
Poignant

These Olympic Games will be some of the ones that I play a reasonable amount of to get a feel rather than “complete”, as completing requires a lot of repeat stuff. I played all starting events, some missions and a few circuits to get a good idea of how this plays.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympics feels like Sega made this without playing Wii Sports at all. Wii Sports felt amazing because of how intuitive and simple the controls were, yet they still felt deep. In this, they just feel like they’re in the way. Table Tennis is a great example: we all know how simple Wii Sports Tennis is. Mario & Sonic table tennis requires different button presses for different strokes, but also feels really delayed and unresponsive.

Other events are just too strict, now allowing for the unresponsive controls. Instead of just making you perform poorly or allowing more leeway, you’ll encounter lots of “faults” from starting a race (which resets the pre-match charging so you have to go through it each time) to trying to time a long jump or a triple jump (which I managed to get to work once).

This also feels like Sonic and Mario are just in a generic Olympic game. You can unlock a couple of “dream” events but the whole style just isn’t a celebration of either franchise

arguably the funniest of the mario sports games.

Its fun, will always enjoy larping as an Olympic athlete

It's decent fun, but the DS version is suprisingly better.

We were expecting some epic open-world platforming adventure with two of gaming's most beloved icons but what we got was better than we expected

Physical minigames but that's it
The game is just a small collection of minigames that require intense physical performance to do well. It's fun for a few games, but you will quickly just find another game to play to occupy the next 5 hours of the sleepover or whatever the hell reason you have a friend over.

I had so many moments challenging my family members in this game. I know at some point the events feel bland but it was still a fun time to go through with others. The dream events are also an amazing part of the game and had some of the best events.

I think this is a solid game, even though it is not amazing or anything. There is quite a bit of content and the dream events are easily the best part of the game. I spent a lot of time with dream table tennis.

Fencing in this was the SHIT. I love this game so much.

my cousins and i played the fuck out of the ping pong and rhythmic gymnastic tournaments

Played the hell out of this back in the day. A decent amount of sports to choose from and this was before the games got really stale so the selection is actually good. Decent character selection aswell
