Red Dead Redemption is what happens when technology and vision collide too early. Red Dead Redemption 2023 on PS5 is a redemption story to that.

My 4th time rolling the credits on this bad boy and it still has a punch and staying power to it that I can only hope RDR II will be able to sustain through the years.

One of the best cowboy 'em ups ever made.

9.5/10 Rating. Very enjoyable going through John Marston's journey and I cannot wait to play the 2nd one. Nothing about this game or the DLC felt too grindy and overall the story about the end of an era and the lead to civilization was brilliant. Truly recommend others to play this game.

This might be a cowboy game, but I know this one is for the girlies.

Odeio as missões das vacas e domar cavalos

It took so long for us to finally get a remaster of RDR1 and this is it. This is the promised mess. Its flawed, its buggy. But god damn its Peak. The story of an outlaw at the tail end of his time is just too good.

The ending is perfect, a nice book end to a cowboy story that is once in a lifetime,

Amazing single player experience, must play of the 360 Generation.

I really liked this game, it had great dialogues and it gives you stuff to think about but I didn’t like how repetitive it was.
I get it, gatling gun is cool, please stop now!!

I loved hunting animals and getting drunk.

Well, this wasn't as good as I expected but it was still nice!
The story drags way too much and there's too much "fetch" missions and it only really gets going near the last 3/4 hours.
The gameplay is nice, although in small spaces, like inside houses or huts, sometimes it's a bit hard to control John, this is also a problem in RDR2 lol. The gameplay is similar to RDR2, although without some of the more realistic elements that are present in the sequel.
Content wise, it's good! You have a couple of minigames you can play, you can do bounty hunts, some interesting side missions and 57 main missions.
Graphically wise it still looks quite good for a 14 year old game, I'd have liked some more improvements but whatever.
The soundtrack is ok, could've been used way more.
The voice acting is good, like in all the Rockstar games I've played.
RDR1 is (understandably so) a more barebones version of RDR2 so I may be being too harsh because I played RDR2 first.
Overall, it's nice but the story could've been better paced and some characters more fleshed out.

this game drags out at times imo but overall it aged pretty well. PC port needed asap

playing this after finishing red dead redemption II is heartbreaking.

Gonna wait until there is hopefully a pc port

not the promised masterpiece due to some very annoying flaws, but god damn if it isn't a fine game.

wish it was shorter, the game could do without making you do around 50 favours for a single npc before they finally decide to be useful.
the game mostly consists of a awesome story buried in an absurd amount of favor quest,
john : come on do that thing you promised
guy : sure sure.... uhhh could you do me one last thing for me ?
john : god damn sure, but if you ask again i'll kill you
he'll ask again 5 more times and john does not in fact, kill him, this would be fine if it wasn't the entirety of the game, this game is about 17 hours in lenght, and i say it could be 7.
i left satisfied and pleased, but still expected more from the internet's claimed greatest game of all time

After loving the 100+ hour experience that was red dead 2 I decided to come back to this game as i a) wanted to see john marston's story in the original and b) saw that it had recently been re-released for the ps4 and switch and could easily access this great game without having to go out and look for a physical ps3 or 360 copy of the game.

Almost 14 years later and this game still holds up exceptionally well. From the 3D open world rockstar games I have rolled credits on (everything except gta 4, red dead revolver and bully), I think this game might have perfected the cover system that has been in these games since from what I remember SA. I find the cover system in rockstar games in general to be pretty clunky, with SA barely protecting the player and V and RDR2 struggling to put the player behind any object whatsoever as in those games half the time I pressed the cover button my character would have a 50/50 chance to hide behind a shitty crate or hug the wall. However I never felt that problem in RDR1 as John pretty much went exactly where I wanted him to be, and the cover itself did very good protection allowing me to enjoy finding my opportunities to kill specific enemies in a tough encounter.

I didn't have high expectations of New Austin in this game, as I found it to being laughably underutilized and boring in red dead 2, but this game somehow managed to make traversing an almost completely baron wasteland actually enjoyable, as the stranger missions, gang hideouts and wide range of animals made exploring it extremely rewarding.

I also didn't know what to expect with the story, but was pleasantly surprised by how well it still holds up to today. It made me like RDR2 even more as the mysterious characters like Bill and Dutch in this game were given an opportunity to be developed further in RDR2 and in a way that made going from 2 to 1 feel extremely natural and enjoyable.

I was however spoiled on a couple major events in the story which admittedly did take a hit on my desire to see this game's storyline to the end, but I'm glad I did as it's narrative and characters are very strong and compelling. Aside from John, Bonnie MacFarlane has risen as one of my favourite characters in this universe, Nigel West Dickens and his antics always made me laugh, and the entire mexico saga I believe is one of the strongest chapters I've seen in a rockstar game.

Overall, this game still holds up incredibly well today, and it's re-release on modern systems allows accessing it's great story easy and accessible to all. This is definitely a must play, especially if you enjoyed RDR2, and is certainly in the upper echelon of Rockstar's phenomenal games.
