Whaaaat a crazy, wacky, mixed bag of a game. The best bits are incredible. The worst bits are... pretty bad. Too messy, but at least brave enough to get weird.

Resident Evil Village is a wild ride that manages to make a fitting sequel, a continuation of a long term series and is welcoming to new players who wish to witness the insane whacky characters of this game.
Village borrows a lot of its elements from the series as a whole whole incorporating other influences, especially in the Dollhouse as it might as well just be the same house from P.T.
It grabs all of these influences and forms them into a really well segmented coherent world that is any speed runners dream.
I think what makes Village so damn fun is that it’s not that intense of a horror game. It really lays itself as a goofy action game that just about midway, you have to take off your pants because you just shit yourself.
It’s charming, it’s rewarding, it opens up a lot of really interesting possibilities for the series to go for next.
I really enjoyed my time with Village. It isn’t perfect but it is extremely fun and that is sometimes all I need in a video game.
Thank you to my amazing partner for braving the game with me the first round and for covering your eyes during most of it ❤

Resident Evil Village is like a wild rollercoaster ride through different horror movie genres! You're this dude Ethan, trying to save your daughter in a creepy Eastern European village. One minute you're sneaking past giant vampires in a spooky castle, the next you're blasting away at werewolves in a snowy field. It's action-packed and way more over-the-top than the previous game, but it still has those tense, jump-out-of-your-seat moments. The only bummer? The story can be a bit confusing, and some areas feel a tad short. Still, if you're looking for a thrilling horror adventure with a good mix of action and scares, Village definitely delivers.

can understand why people have mixed views on this. gameplay was great and while the game could have been outstanding if the plot made more sense and the voice acting were improved, i still think that the game held itself up through the gameplay and atmosphere. the castle is one of my favourite locations in video games ever. castle was genuinely perfect and was by far this best part of the game. definitely not a scary game but intense.

Capcom please let Ethan just live a happy life, this wimpy engineer doesn't deserve this.

All I feel is pain, thanks for that ending.

was shitter the second time i played it

unfortunately watched someone play the doll house so it didn't have that spooky factor

My grade would have a been a bit lower without the DLC. I was more scared of RE7 but then the DLC arrived, creeped me out a lot and was more difficult than the core game.
I liked the universe of the core game but I was really feeling the RE4 vibes too much to find it original. Bad guys designs were cool but the game is too short to give it a real interest. However, I do think Miranda is the baddie I liked the most in the franchise. I also liked the Winters story and for once, Chris who finally has some charisma.

Kind of contemptible village raid opening scene but was a really playable, fun time through a spooky horror amusement park. It's not the Resident Evil I want anymore, but the games are pretty good, so I'm still along for the ride.

I have replayed several times on PS5 as well as on PSVR2 and it is genuinely such a fun game. I recognize it has some flaws and is not as scary as its predecessor nor is it as good as 4, but it is just so fun to play. I love this title, even if its last quarter feels rushed. IT HAS THE SCARIEST SCENE IN ANY RESIDENT EVIL, THE RESIDENTS WERE EVIL.

Good time all around, but the castle section is easily the highlight of the entire game.

while i love this game a lot, i can't help but find the story so damn frustrating to watch.

imagine giving us one of the best characters in the whole franchise: a hot dilf-coded villain with a dark past and problematic personality but still having redeeming qualities, and then just... completely wasting all his potential. heisenberg truly could have much more importance in the story, and i don't see any reason for adding the detail of his hatred for miranda if that wouldn't make any difference in the end because ethan doesn't even consider his offer for a partnership and we're forced to kill him anyway. the amount of concept art of discarded content of his is just disheartening... at least my fellow ficwriters do him justice.

all of the lords (except moreau, no one cares for him) could have more depth and development. but i suppose it's not really surprising, as resident evil always has been shitty when it comes to writing villains and never really offered them any chance of redemption, which i personally think sucks. i agree that not every villain should be given redemption, but karl was one that should (donna too, but i won't focus on her). the man just wanted to be free. he was a genius - a single man that built an whole army for his revenge, for his raw hatred of the woman who stripped him of his dignity, hurt his pride and took his autonomy away by force, and at the end he just lost everything he worked so hard for and died pathetically, and alone. i know the focus of the games are the gameplay and not the story, but it's still annoying to see an interesting character being wasted like that.

gameplay wise, i think the game is cool. it's much less survival horror than 7 - item managing is barely needed unless playing on hardcore, but just by watching the trailers anyone could have realized that this game would be less horror than the previous, so it's not a surprise or anything, and i have no complaints about that. it's obvious that they wanted to focus a little bit more on the story this time, i just wish they did a better job on that sense. still, even if not life-changing, re8 is a great, solid game with replay value, and i find it worth playing.

Ethan Winters wins the award for Best Supernatural Dead Daddio that Refuses to Die to ever grace the Resident Evil series

It wasn't my favorite Resident Evil game but It was still fun and enjoyable with the new characters and setting (even though the setting reminded me of Resident Evil 4). I think this game won't be as good if I replayed it though.

It's all over the screen and controller.

uma coisa..
Dimitrescu e beneviento mal exploradas!!!!!!

Compared to 7 this was a bit of a disappointment. Still a very good game but everything this does was done better in either 4 or 7. The opening couple hours are great but slowly falls off after that. Seriously fuck Heisenberg's factory, I hate that level.
