i was all prepared to just complain about how it feels like a step back from 5 in all ways except that it actually eases people into mechanics but, like, these games are just so good man lmao. truly nobody does it like shiren.
the one free update as of the time of this posting is also really good and has me optimistic about what's to come. i just need some better gimmick dungeons to be added and i'll be completely content (aside from how much of a downgrade the visuals are but what can ya do)

I died on a really good run, spent an hour self rescuing myself, then died again immediately upon continuing the run. This is the kind of roguelike experience I have waited forever for and it's perfect.

Gave this a try as a longtime PMD fan wishing for something to fill the void, but I just couldn't get into it. I expected as much, since I'm not a fan of rogue-likes, but still wanted to see where PMD originated from, and doing so made me appreciate both Shiren and PMD even more than I did before. While I probably won't continue my playthrough, I did have a fun time and there's a clear amount of charm and challenge that it has to offer.

First completion of the main dungeon today. Still haven’t had a chance to play with all the mechanics yet since many were unlocked during this last run, but this is the evolution I was hoping for after the DS version that I enjoyed. Looking forward to even more runs as I continue to learn this game!
