It's the best was to play the classic games... on PC... when modded.

Common Sega franchise fumble, just generally overall disappointing and super overpriced.

Collection is meh but the games were cool

A solid collection of great games unfortunately bogged down by minor bugs, licensing issues, and SEGA's own greed.

Good games, but Sonic 1 was ASS

Aside from very few bugs, this is still a great collection of all the classic Sonic games. It isn't perfect, but perfectly acceptable and the games run as well as you'd expect. I enjoyed my time with this collection and enjoyed the extra content and DLC.

games in it are great but the collection itself sucks ass and there are way better ways to play genesis sonic games

Definitive way to play classic Sonic if you don’t own a PC

Долбаебы нах вы вырезали треки Майкла Джексона?

This compilation release features the following games:

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic CD
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Blue Spheres
New Blue Spheres

These are the Retro Engine versions of the games, with Sonic 3 & Knuckles being available in this engine for the first time. This compilation also acknowledges that Sonic 3 & Knuckles is a single game. The lives system has been removed and replaced with coins, which can be spent on retrying special stages or unlocking artwork and music.

This also features a campaign mode where you play all the games in order (with CD being put before 2). Sonic 1, 2 and 3 also have new animated cutscenes, which look fantastic.

Another addition is a mission mode. Each game has a bunch of missions which take place on unique mini stages, these are a lot of fun to complete, and the short stints even make Sonic CD more enjoyable. There’s a lot of variety and lots of different ways to play.

All 4 titles in the collection are solid. Sonic 2 and 3 are easy 9/10s (4.5 stars). My rating here is moreso on the merits of the collection, which is good in that it brings us the Taxman versions of the games on consoles. But as far as offering up the definitive editions of all 4 titles, they could have done better. Especially in regards to Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

A great collection of sonics humble begins, you can tell that a lot of love was placed into the collection with all of the additional behind the scenes looks and the challenge mode. I didn't come across any bugs as such, my only gripe was the omitted sonic 3&k music which was fixed by a simple mod other than that a fantastic collection

uma otima coletanea q interliga mto bem a primeira trilogia do ouriço. a velocidade, os visuais, as musicas o desgin de fase, tudo me encanta em sonic. com certeza um dos meus jogos favoritos.

A decent entry point for new fans of the series who wish to get into the games, but that's about all it is really. Personally, I believe this collection should've consisted of SA1, SA2, and Heroes as they don't see nearly as many rereleases and ports that these classic games do.

Despite aiming to be the "definitive" way to play these games, there still lacks many basic features and customisation options that you'd expect, with the most glaring exclusion being save slots for each game (with the exception of Sonic 3 but only because it was a feature of the original game). Once you clear a game with a certain character your only options are to replay the last level or play again from the beginning, which is surprising as the iOS ports of these games bothered having save slots. You're given the option to play the games in "classic" mode which is the game's anniversary mode but in 4:3 and with lives, which is super restricting and plain odd. Should have just given us seperate options to play in whichever aspect ration we like and toggle lives.

The unlockables in the museum aren't all that interesting if you're a long time fan as most of, if not all, the entries are accessible elsewhere. I will commend the devs for including each episode of Sonic Mania Adventures in high quality for it to be preserved and not just exclusive to YouTube.

What should have been an easy task for SEGA instead is an undercooked collection of 4 beloved games that took way too many updates to fix bugs. Not to mention the unnecessary "Plus" revision a year after launch that included content that, in all honesty, should have been part of the game to begin with.

A great collection that could have been a fantastic one. I still believe that Sonic Mega Collection is a better collection, although Origins has the best versions of the included games. They should have added a ton more extras like manuals and comic scans to at least match the content in Mega Collection.

Great platformers, bad port. Engine has many glitches across the main game where the old level design does not work well within the engine. Graphically, it's the best port of the games and with mods it looks even sharper. Played it on Deck and had a good time but if I emulated them they would be more enjoyable, just less pleasing visually.

ehhhh. it's fine, I guess? good that they finally freed the Christian Whitehead versions of Sonic 1 and 2 from mobile hell, but otherwise? nah, this ain't it

Sonic Origins at the end of the day is a very strange package. It should be the definitive versions of the classic genesis titles and it gets so close but it just dies right before it hits the signpost.

Tons of great improvements and some neat bonus features but other Sonic collections of the past included more games and content that is just missing in this one. The new cutscenes are cute, the quality of life changes are great and mission mode is actually kinda fun but for everything gained is something lost in return. Plus I can't understate how the missing Sonic 3 music sucks because the replacements are literally unfinished versions of tracks from prototypes (that are also slightly off from the prototypes) and they just don't sound good.

What also sucks is that the collection introduces some weird bugs that weren't in any other version giving off some rushed vibes (it was rushed, classic SEGA moment). All of that brings the game down a touch. Even more when you add in the weird ass Deluxe DLC which gives things that literally don't feel worth the extra cash put down. Like extra menu animations and side borders is a really weird thing to sell. Luckily the Plus version replaced it and actually comes with more content but the gall of SEGA to make DLC for a classic collection is hilarious.

To anyone that's never played a Sonic game or is a casual fan and wants to relive the old titles, this collection ain't half bad and it's a super easy way to play the entire main line genesis catalogue. For the die hard Sonic fans who are willing to go through the trouble, there's better ways to experience these classics. Just when you play Sonic 1, make sure you stop after Green Hill Act 2. You're better off that way.

This collection has improved a lot since it's original release. Whilst there is still the rare glitch and the music of Sonic 3 isn't the best in some zones it is still a really solid way to play the classics.

Whilst hardcore fans may prefer other versions this release still has a lot to offer and I would totally recommended it to most people as the way to play these games.

for casual fans this collection is great especially for the price. for people who grew up with mega collection this game is lacking in so much content its not even funny. they even have exclusive songs in the deluxe edition for games that arent even in the collection!! like seriously this collection had so much potential but with sega being sega i'm not surprised it turned out this way
