After playing through this game and honestly... it ain't that bad as everyone says, but it could've gone a whole lot better (like not making it a ripoff to Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and make it a lot like Battle for Bikini Bottom), but hey at least we have gotten The Cosmic Shake back in January of this year!
I don't remember much of this game so I'll reuse the video review I made for this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KWPgGYAIZ8
I feel like Behaviour Interactive make bad games but decide to give them incredibly frustrating trophies so that you spend more time playing them.
From the developers of Disney's Brave, a game I played previously, Plankton's Robotic Revenge is similar to it, but with more playable characters and less soul.
You can play as either SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs or Sandy, although each character plays identically so it's up to preference really (although personally the sponge has an advantage due to his small hitbox) - but you'll have to play as every character anyway in order to get the platinum.
Each character has a special ability but I only know that Mr. Krabs' gets you more sprockets (or "coins") because I didn't realise I had a special ability until the end of the game and by then it was useless.
I also didn't figure out how to switch characters until around the same time.
The game features 15 levels across three worlds, with three boss fights too (I think?).
It's pretty much just the Brave game but for children - the upgrade grind is where you spend most of your time.
Honestly I prefer Brave, plus it's cheaper.
I think the only reason you should get this at the price it is now (£18/$23) is if you want to get every SpongeBob game achievement/platinum.

Previous Spongebob game publishers, THQ, went bankrupt in January 2013 so Activision bought the license and to show it they released Plankton's Robotic Revenge a lackluster game and a awful Spongebob game.
The gameplay is a shooter similar to Ratchet & Clank. However, it is repetitive with the same enemies and no variation. The gizmos are just boring literally the first weapon you buy will get you through the entire game. Each character has a basic three hit combo, ground slam and power up. Spongebob will get temporary invincibility, Patrick's ground slam will deal double damage, Sandy's melee attacks will do double damage, Mr Krabs will get double sprockets and Squidward will do double damage with gizmos.
Sprockets are your currency. You will get them by breaking barrels and destroying robots. They are used for buying new weapons and upgrading your weapons to do better damage to make the journey each more boring.
The only two good things about this game is the CGI cut scenes and that is because they were done by a different team. The show's voice actors also voice their characters and in the interviews they would rather talk about anything else.
As a start to Activision's Spongebob's game this is a bad start and a stinker in the sponge's game career.
