I found this more effective than the base game, it has more of a plot and unlike the base game time feels like more of an obstacle, by giving the character an important objective it motivates them to explore more areas and potentially put themselves in riskier situations, unlike the base game where after you manage to get a decent base theres pretty much no reason to take risks and seek out potentially more dangerous areas
It is however very short, and the ending does feel a little anticlimactic, but the game manages to have more of an actual plot, while keeping the moral choices and more gameplay focused storytelling from the base game. I think I would have preferred a collection of these types of stories, but longer, with unique locations, characters and possibly even different options for base management instead of the original game.

As I stated in another review, I love the base game, but none of the expansions or updates did that much for me. I barely remember any of these extra stories, and I think the game works better when the narrative is not this linear.
