probably has the best art direction of any FE game out there. as far as the gameplay and story, it's commendable what they made out of it considering how strange and clunky the original is but it still has the flaws of the original. that's not inherently a bad thing though. i like that it's faithful to the original's identity, warts and all.
Great Music, Art, Voice Acting and characters but the maps are honesty unfun, annoying and are some of the worst in series for me. If the maps were updated and redesigned more from their NES counterpart, this would easily be one of the best FE games as the rest of this game is great on top of being an amazing remake.
Such a weird FE game. Didn't mind the deviations from the usual formula, such as dungeon crawling, AS calculation, weapon arts, learning spells, etc. And DEFINITELY didn't miss reinforcements. Presentation was amazing as well, loved having all characters fully voiced and the voicework overall was great. But those awful, generic maps really hurt the game. As did the lack of enemy variety and the trash mobs the game throws at you. Definitely a standout FE game, but not one of the better ones
I played Fire Emblem Gaiden in high school and loved it. I assumed that nobody would ever know or care about the story of Alm and Celica. I now live in a world where most people who like Fire Emblem at least know of them. That will be forever wild to me. I got my copy of this game on the same day as my high school graduation party. I retreated for a bit because I got really tired. I played this for a bit. It is a very special video game.
An absolutely bizarre spectacle of a remake trying it's damned hardest not to fix any issue the original unspeakably dated game had. It's seriously comical how much this game tries to not address any flaw the game originally had and just tack on more shiny stuff to essentially polish a turd. The shiny stuff is cool but the fact is, this remains a turd.
