Back in 2002, this seemed like the most advanced thing in the world to me. All through simple text prompts I met friends, became a Jedi (WITHOUT the props they've now added), joined a Professional Wrestling federation with long term stories, and more. The user customization and furni options were great...but having to mail checks to the UK and wait for credits to buy stuff was always annoying. For something that was little more than a chat room, it was a place where my imagination ran far beyond what the simple interface offered.
Since I quit in like, 03/04, it's seen a nightmarish rollercoaster of change. But when it was just plain old "Habbo Hotel," it was pretty damn magical.
