i used to rent this from BLOCKBUSTER. anyways it was good but that explains the status LOL

This was the game that defined my youth. I adored this game, and prefer it to the other Harvest Moon title I played: A Wonderful Life.

Came for the cute visuals, left because of the Cookie Cutter NPCs.

This to me is the harvest moon that has everything. charming design art, festivals, great amount of bachelors, and great variety with all the farm work. Alongside Friends of Mineral Town and A Wonderful Life, this is a timeless classic

Very fun as a kid! Enjoyable characters and setting…relaxing.

I played through and got all 100 notes, something I've wanted to do for years. the idea is appealing, completing the task is a grind. not really recommended, unless you love the game as much as I do. I've played it a number of times. it's my personal favorite Harvest Moon game. biggest flaw imo is a lack of item stacking.

Catch me fishing with my man Toby, fuck them hoes in town (except for the tailor lady, I like her).

the rainbow tools planted voices inside my head

This is such a cute game but I believe one needs to very patient, when an adult, to finish this

Overated. Tedious. A huge step back in both presentation and world design.

Collecting the Melodies is fun and addicting. But the game is just too annoying and punishing to play.

This is probably one of the more enjoyable yet frustrating titles in the series. I liked the idea, but it needed to be tweaked down a little bit, especially at the start.

You begin and the most you can do in a day is hoe three squares and water one before you tire out. The town is quite pretty, and the overall gameplay was frustrating at times.

Perhaps it's because I'm more used to the styles of the games before AWL and AnWL which was almost auto-pilot

One thing is for certain: the chickens are bigger pigs than Gourmet.

Much like in real life, you can only beat this game by marrying your rival

Harvest moon at it's finest. A near perfect and very cute farming sim.

I couldn't get into this the same way I did with A Wonderful Life before it, but I don't think this is a bad game by any means. Maybe it was the super chibi art style throwing me off, idk.

A farming collectathon that wound up being a lot more fun than what many might expect.

never finished because the controls felt super clunky and MC runs soooo slow. also map was confusing as fuck.

Review in progress:
I'm not a fan of the chibi art style. The writing is noticeably worse than Friends of Mineral Town. That game is better in every way.

even if the translation is terrible and there's overall less writing and content here compared to the older games this is my favorite bokujo monogatari game ever.
got the 50 note, 100 note, and jamie endings

A very simple take on the HM games, but done amazingly well.
Progress is slow initially, but as you go on expanding your farm, the game opens up so much more beyond it's initial simple layout and is a kid's dream farm life at the end. Music is addicting and best in the franchise. Think I had more hours on this than A Wonderful Life shockingly so I have to give it a 5.

Adorable game, all the animals and things were so cute. Loved that I could finally play a girl character in a harvest moon game! Enjoyed exploring and developing my own farm and I could make all kinds of things. Mr. Bob had a whole collection of rings and brooches and stuff I gave him teehee, just couldn't figure out how to marry him. Would love to play this game again, if only I could figure out where it went.
Update: I bought a used copy and the game is just as cute and fun as I remembered!!
