I really enjoy Kingdom Hearts without nostalgia goggles. I played the majority of the franchise for the first time in the last 6 months. The only ones I played were 1 and 2 over 10 years ago before this year. I really have enjoyed my experience.
Holy shit though. There had to have been a better way to do this. I think the additions are really nice but Nomura, in his special and absurdly unique fashion, made ReMind absolutely difficult to play.
I don't know how else to explain it other than wait for a sale on the DLC. I personally don't think the price is... well... good. This could've been a $5-10 or free update. It's kind of absurd. I don't feel robbed or anything since I got it all back in April during the golden week sale on PSN. It was like $30 for the full game and DLC...
I just feel bad for anyone who purchased this for $40. Anyways. I didn't come here for the story of kindom hearts but I was hoping for more. It is important story content, too. It takes 4 hours to get to and watching a lot of the same content... sigh

ReMind was DLC that promised to answer some questions, which it did, but it also created twice as many as it answered. I don't mind though, as it seems like there could be some cool introductions to the series in the future. Gameplay-wise, I wouldn't really say this is worth the price for most people, even on sale. The main part of the DLC is mostly just the ending of 3 again, but with new playable characters and a few new scenes. The part that I really enjoyed, however, are all the optional bosses that come after. They're extremely challenging, but it's exactly what I was looking for considering how easy 3 was. Most of the content here really should've just been a part of the base game, but I still found it enjoyable regardless.
The main campaign of this is a joke even in Critical if you have a Level 80 Sora with Ultima Weapon and the best defensive equipment... however when you're not playing as Sora, holy shit.
The story was standard, not gonna go into it.
Bottom line is that the DLC is alright. I wouldn't say it's worth 30 bucks personally as (outside of the Data Fights) it's mostly just retreads of the ending of KH3.
Still pretty kino tho, now can someone for the love of god make a straight Kingdom Hearts Doujin about Aqua.

While I enjoyed this way more than I enjoyed kh3 I feel like I’m being kinda generous giving it 3 stars and the reason for that is that most of the dlc is literally reused content, most of the boss fights are fights that you’ve already done just getting the option to play as another character and the worst part is that you have to redo some of these as sora AGAIN! You get new cutscenes here and there, team attacks with most of the trios expect for a riku and sora attack which feels odd but they probably didn’t give them one because there is a sora/Mickey/riku team attack and I’m actually pretty mad about how dirty my boy riku was done gameplay wise the stuff I found enjoyable was definitely the guardians vs replica xehanorts and a couple of scenes in the limit cut episode, data greeting was a neat idea though I personally don’t use it much. I will say that locking important scenes behind very difficult bosses was a dick move, the secret boss is fair but important scenes being locked behind 13 bosses is bullshit.
The average of two scores:
ReMind: 2/10
Worst piece of sit DLC I ever wasted money on. I had to pay $30 just to play the main game again and re-watch a ton of cutscenes with the only added feature being the option to play as a much weaker character? It's amazing how much this DLC learns nothing from the flaws of the main game and provides debatably the worst experience in KH history. This is an outrage!
Limit Cut: 10/10
Holy sit, best boss roster in years. Each boss is challenging, distinct, loaded with great music and unique mechanics. Limit Cut offers 12 of the best bosses in KH history(Dark Riku is there too), and it doesn't stop there. I never thought Lingering Will would be topped in terms of difficulty, but I haven't beaten Yozora to this day. Be that as it may, I never found myself frustrated. This boss roster must be experienced!
Overall: 6/10
You know ReMind is bad if having one of the greatest boss collections in gaming history waiting for you at the end just barely justified the purchase. I would have much preferred it if ReMind was removed or at least shortened and the price was dropped down to at most $20, but I'll take Limit Cut however I can get it. If you buy this DLC, please don't stop playing until you finish ReMind, it will be worth it.
