I'm playing with motion controls!

This one is by far the hardest to beat. Jesus Christ it's nearly impossible to finish ONE Grand Prix without losing 2 out of 4 races to blue shells or POW blocks. Some of the best Mario Kart tracks are in this one though, like Coconut Mall, Mushroom Gorge, and Koopa Cape. This is the last Mario Kart game where you unlock characters and karts through certain objectives, which gives you plenty to do. The most dumb fun Mario Kart game.

This is the game I played most during my time at university, hours of playing 4 player split screen and just knowing the tracks inside and out. The best Mario Kart, no doubt in my mind.

the holy grail of mario kart

one time i got it for christmas and played it and it was the best thing ever and then my mom took it back to the store the next day so that was cool
It was a very fun game for those 12 hours I owned it though

My favorite Mario Kart. Love the bikes.

First experience with Mario.
11 years later this is still a blast to play. add on CTGP for a longer experience

This is the most I've enjoyed a game with both coconuts and malls, that's for sure.

Jugar en su día a esto con el WiiMote como un volante era algo extraordinario. Quizás este recuerdo está romantizado por como lo asocio a veladas con familiares y amigos, pero creo que ningún otro Mario Kart ha tenido ese impacto en mi vida.

Generally I like to play with motion controls, so, I liked this one.

M&M's Kart Racing ripoff you cant even approach the sound barrier

good game to play after school

Second best Mario Kart game next to DS.

Mario Kart Wii is almost a true gem. Its multiplayer is top notch, its courses are very memorable and it is very unpredictable. The motion controls are good, but not impecable, but you can play it without Wii Remotes. I played it a lot with my whole family.

There's not really much to say about this game that hasn't already been said. Definitely one of the better Mario Karts, with a mostly great selection of new tracks and the choices for the retro tracks are much better than DS, arguably. Quite a few notable innovations like bikes, new items, the trick system. However this game DOES have it's share of issues, despite how much I love it. Going back to bikes...yeah, bikes. I know it was their first try but I think they're a bit unbalanced, let's be honest and say 90% of players use bikes because somehow Karts aren't nearly as good (it's in the title Nintendo, what the hell). The battle mode also isn't quite as fun, the character selection isn't bad but there's some questionable picks (enough of the baby characters, baby Mario and Luigi are enough for most people, also nobody plays as Birdo). Also I personally do not think character stats were a good idea, since it gives no incentive to play as anyone except the ones with the best stats (You know what I mean, Mach Bike Daisy and Flame Runner Funky Kong), it seems to kinda waste the franchises colourful cast. Other than that it's a very solid entry with a good variety of tracks, vehicles and characters.

the best mario kart, still fun to this day

The best multiplayer experience I've ever had in a video game. So frustratingly addicting and fun.

All Mario Kart games are fun if you don't get hit by a blue shell :^)

the objective peak of the racing genre, truly the melee of mario kart

I hate this game but I think it's actually pretty good and kinda fun so I'm giving it a very reluctant 7

Mario Kart but everything is shinier than it should be, gameplay-wise its still a banger though.
