I find it quite a bit harder than your average Touhou game, and it's a bit shorter. Suwako is still a top character, though.

This would start the era of Touhou where ZUN decided to move away from what worked about the first Windows Era games to try and fix what was not broken. This game is just simply really fucking easy. The power-based bombs only make it easier. Aesthetically, however, it is a cut above the previous games, and the games would continue this graphical fidelity for the rest of the series. I think this game looks nice and has some fun patterns, but I really hate power-based bombing. The removal of unique and interesting bombs makes them feel boring and, ultimately, even if it can trivialize the game, I don't like the game design. Even so, it's fine.

No gimmicks, aesthetically beautiful (I love the whole Autumn vibe), and the status-quo shake was much needed in the Windows-era. An absolute classic.

Also this game introduced Sanae Kochiya, the best Windows-era character.
