I love this game. Salmon Run and its difficulty is the reason that I have over 2000 hours in the game I believe. The new content kept breathing new life into the game. I love the new weapon classes especially the bows. The creativity of this game is top tier. I love the community of the game as well. I will say that the connection issues is like the main thing that brings this game down from a perfect score for me. I don’t believe that same issue was present in Splatoon 2.
i completed the first catalogue and feel bad that i didn't complete the rest but like i dont really play it beyond splatfests and big runs that much anymore
i want to play it more than i do but also i dont have the want to play it that often
100%'d the story mode and wish there was more to it like splat2 does. somehow octo expansion feels longer than it

Rolled credits and cleared After Alterna after 525 hours played according to my Switch. Of course the story mode isn't that long, but I've been so hooked on the multiplayer that I got distracted from the campaign. This is my first Splatoon game thanks to the eager encouragement from a good friend. Shooters are very much not my thing; had a rough time getting into this at first. Eventually (read: 50 hours of multiplayer later) it started to click, and my obsession of 2023 was born.
The hybrid gameplay of puzzle platformer + shooter ended up being a winning formula for me. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time spent digging deep to understand what Splatoon is all about. Equally though I am thoroughly burned out on the multilayer, ranked, salmon run, and the catalog grind. I don't regret my time here, far from it, I just wonder how eager I'll be for the inevitable Splatoon 4 in the future.

Now this game i consider dead for me.nintendo keeps recycling catalogs.maps thats meh. There really isnt much
Interesting things now in splatoon 3. oh yes the dlc was hard (i like hard games thats good) but its the same thing almost.is not the octo expansion thats has a good variety of levels (i know this i need to put in the page of the dlc but idc)
Conclusion
Splatoon 3 during 2022 was fun but now...

The storymode was great, though there really isn't any incentive for multiple playthroughs. The cutscenes in particular were really well done
The multiplayer on the other hand I've found far more frustrating than the other two games combined. A combination of the plethora of connection errors, the slow update cycle, and boring splatfests (tricolor is a very poorly executed mode) really bring this one down. The aesthetic of this game feels far less distinct compared to the other two games as well, and I find myself putting this one down for far longer periods of time despite having more playtime in this one. This game has great modes like the salmon run that are brought down by back to back terrible rotations, and the tableturf mode was entirely mishandled
With every interesting thing they added or every QOL improvement, there seems to be equally as many caveats
