We travel yet another world for Wario strip off it's treasures (albeit by accident in this case). Just like in Wario Land 2, the player character is invincible, and all the enemies can do is to push us back or transform us (which is useful or counter productive depending in the situation). So yes, just like it's predecessor, there are lots of enviromental puzzles that are solved by making Wario suffer. This game also has elements of metroidvania: we won't be able to access all areas in one stage unless we've got certain keys and abilities. Also, there is a neat night and day cycle that can chage conditions more or less depending on the stage (for example: certain enemies sleep at night, some areas only open at one of the two times of the day, etc). The beautifully animated sprites and funny character designs makes it feel like a playable cartoon. Soundtrack is one of the best in the console too.
Another title that is not only great to replay, but also go for 100% when you do.

in lieu of such lowly systems such as "health" and "lose conditions", wario instead is constantly punished and humiliated by his environment. while many mascots will be burned and flattened as they go on their adventures, for wario, undergoing torture is mandatory for progression, which paints a picture of a man who'll do anything for riches. wario is the gigolo of platformers.
wario is not unlike zero mostel's character from The Producers (1967).

WEIRDLY almost my platonic ideal of a platformer lol. even more sludgy and slow than 4 which is rlly good but i think i fuck w this more as this is kind of a chiller game than that one. wario cannot fucking die, he’s indestructible and that’s rlly fun to play w in a game like this. didn’t finish bc i have a life + i do not have that dog in me but yeah this fucks. had to have been the most annoying game in the world to play without the ease of like save states/replay functions
Pretty good but 2 was better and 4 was much more
