Uncanny horror done right. The vagueness and uncertainty of it all adds an extra sense of foreboding. This game owes much of its successful atmosphere to the choice to lean heavily into 5th generation graphics and gameplay style. Not only are the visuals limited, but so are the controls themselves. But this is by design. You never fully see the monster, as it enters often from just out-of-frame. And even when in full view the creature still cannot be completely seen in detail. There is no detail to be seen.

Though short, Walk makes the absolute most of its playtime. Every second is full of anticipation and dread. Play it in the dark with the sound up.
